What is stress?
Stress is the body’s response when we perceive ourselves to be under pressure or facing a threat. It manifests as a state of mental tension and worry, often arising from situations where we lack control, encounter unexpected challenges, or experience something new. When we feel stressed, our body releases stress hormones, which can be beneficial in short bursts but detrimental when experienced over prolonged periods. Chronic stress can weaken the immune system and have adverse effects on both physical and mental health.
